No.2's are not always recruited to the Village just because their predecessor has failed in his or her task against No.6. Certainly this was not the case for No.2 the second time around during the episode of The General. It was only through No.6 poking his nose in, that saw No.2's involvement with No.6. No.2's chief involvement was with both the General, and the Professor and his wife. Certainly that was not the case with the retiring No.2 in ‘It’s Your Funeral.’ Nor is it the case of No.2 in ‘Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling.’
