Living In Harmony

Being a keen fan of American Wild West films, and after watching 'Living In Harmony,' it is not then so surprising that I should observe the comparison between the Judge who runs the Town of Harmony, and who holds open court in the Silver Dollar Saloon, and that of Judge Roy Bean pictured below.
Judge Roy Bean, a Saloon keeper and adventurer, proclaimed himself to be "law west of the Pecos." In 1882 Bean moved to southwest Texas, where he built his famous Saloon 'The Jersey Lillie' where he dispensed his justice.
Bean also founded the hamlet of Langtry, the Saloon and town named after the British actress Lillie Langtry. Although Bean never met the actress, Bean  had developed an abiding affection for the beautiful actress after seeing a drawing of her in an illustrated magazine. For the rest of his life, he avidly followed Langtry's career in theatre magazines.
This is a picture of Lillie Langtry. And now you are perhaps wondering what is the link between the actress and 'Living In Harmony?' Well you can see a picture much like the one above, hung on a wall in the Silver Dollar Saloon.

Fancy living in Harmony stranger?
