Names are not used in the Village, because for official purposes everyone has a number. Nevertheless, names are used, I suppose it's because there is the professional, if not personal relationships between Cobb and No.6, and later Roland Walter Dutton. No.6 also cultivated a relationship with Nadia-No.8, and don't forget Alison whom No.6 was helping with her mind reading act in time for the Village Festival. When did No.6 first become friendly with Alison? Yet, there is one person, whom No.6 helps, a one time damsel in distress - Monique-No.50, the Watchmakers daughter! Now why is it No.6 never once utters Moniques name, as he did with Nadia and Alison, two former females he has helped? Mind you, having said that, there is one further woman with whom No.6 had a kind of relationship, No.8 of Checkmate, he never uses her name either! I wonder what No.8's name was, and what it was that saw her brought to the Village?
