Howdy Pardner!

The opening sequence to ‘Living In Harmony’ is not that of the regular opening sequence where the Prisoner hands in his letter of resignation to a man sat behind a desk in some obscure office. Instead there is an American Wild West opening sequence, as a Sheriff  rides into town enters a Jailhouse and hands in both his badge and gun, and is then seen walking the plains carrying his saddle.
However during a screening of the episode of Living In Harmony, one television company, Channel 4 which screened 'the Prisoner' series in 1992, but they had added in the regular opening sequence after the opening sequence where a Sheriff had handed in his badge and gun. Which not only interrupted the action, but made no sense by it's addition to the episode. I understand that someone at Channel 4 looked at 'Living In Harmony' and thought that for some reason the regular opening sequence had been missed out, so he had the regular opening sequence added to the episode!

Be seeing you

  1. You wouldn't believe what was done to TV series in the past by German TV, especially in the 6Ts and 7Ts but even further. The initial DANGER MAN episodes running time of round about 30 minutes was clipped to some 23 miuntes. I don't know why, perhaps to fit into the time slot. Many credits sequences would be more or less changed and especially the end credits were mostly dropped completely. THE PRISONER fared better, however. The end titles were changed, most cast and staff names removed but its length remained the same. Many other series weren't shown with all their episodes, so MAN IN A SUITCASE with only 13 of them, AVENGERS epsidoes hinting to the Nazi past were dropped and so on. - BCNU!

    1. Hello Arno,

An informative comment. As you know I am always interested to read how Television companies/Stations in other countries treat 'the Prisoner,' and indeed 'Danger Man.' And I'm sure readers of this blog will also find your comment of interest.

Hope all is well with you, and I will be in touch via email.

      Very kind regards
      David
