If you think that the General during 'The Chimes of Big Ben' seemed a little sour. Well just get a load of the expression on the ex- Admirals face! Sour isn't the word here, more like miserable and grumpy!
Incidentally, if you watch other shots down on the lawn of the Old People's Home in further episodes, there are a couple of times when you can see the ex-Admiral sitting at his table, still waiting for a chess partner to play! Poor old soul. Is this all the ex-Admiral does all day, just to sit there waiting for a chess opponent to play? What a sad existence that is.
I wonder why it is, that the actor Frederick Piper was not used in another scene in 'Arrival? When the Prisoner was on his way to the Labour Exchange and we see an chap dressed identically to Frederick Piper with the same Naval cap and numbered badge!
