Pictorial Prisoner

Poor old Roland Walter Dutton! He was brought to the Village a couple of months ago, and since that day the doctor-No.40 has been working night and day so as to extract every  piece of information from Dutton, who has already given quite a lot of information, but it reluctant to go any further. The trouble is, Dutton hadn’t access to the “vital stuff,” yet the doctor refuses to believe him. So to give Dutton time to consider his position he is allowed out into the peaceful atmosphere of the Village. And then what happens, Dutton has an encounter with an ex-colleague. “You….you of all people……I’d never have believed it!” “How long have you been here?” No.6 asks. “Don’t you know?” “Would I ask?” Well he might if No.6 had been assigned to Dutton, so to give his story of being a prisoner credibility. As I feel that just for a split second Roland Walter Dutton had thought that they had brought his ex-colleague to the Village in order to persuade him to give any further information he might have. After all, isn’t that what they did to No.6 during ‘The Chimes of Big Ben?’

Be seeing you
