Thought For The Day

Number One might have known that to involve Number Six in the plot to execute the retiring Number Two, in It's Your Funeral, would mean failure in that plot. Didn't Number One learn anything from The General?

  1. In my episode order, It's Your Funeral is only episode 5. This explains the Village being naive in such matters. They simply wanted to discredit No6 and had no idea his ramblings (a hilarious scene between No6 and Derrin Nesbitt as No2) would be taken seriously.

Definitely the most complicated plot in the series!

I actually shared a drink (not from the same glass) with Mark Eden (No 100) 20 years ago in London. At one point he had his hands round my throat to demonstrate his fight scene with McGoohan. I'll never forget the face of one woman walking past whom I'm sure must have thought that Alan Bradley had returned from the dead!

  2. Oops! 'It's Your Funeral' is episode 6 in my running order (if anyone's out there). 'The Chimes Of Big Ben' is 5th.
