the Village! It's just as well that the Undertaker, an agent of the Village in the guise of a chauffeur, turned up when he did, otherwise Potter would have taken the Prisoner and Professor Seltzman back to England. And what price then the Prisoner getting his mind properly re-housed in his body?
And if not for the Undertaker arriving on the scene when he had, and the Prisoner and Seltzman had been able to evade Potter, how would the Prisoner have got them back to the Village? Because I don't think the Prisoner would have been able to accept himself as he is.
