Thought For The day

"Number Six's maxim was "Never trust a woman" is followed rigorously in the episode of Checkmate, and with good reason. The white Queen-No.8, a woman who has been conditioned/hypnotised to love and faithfully follow Number Six, makes many honest attempts to gain his confidence, only to be scorned and forgotten. Although unlike the white Queen on the chessboard who protects her pawn, No.8 will betray No.6 if he is going to escape, to leave her, effectively No.8 is a walking human alarm system! In fact the original title for this episode was The Queens Pawn.
It should be noted that while Number Six doesn't trust women, he is very willing to protect them, and as Number 2 notes in It's Your Funeral "Now she's a damsel in distress," and Number Six is proved to be a sucker for a "Damsel in distress!"

Be seeing you
