Why the termination order againt No.42-Roland Walter Dutton?
We cannot be 100% sure if Dutton was actually "terminated". Perhaps it wasn't meant physically but mentally, psychologically. If, at all, he was lobotomised. - BCNU!
Well of course Dutton wasn't terminated, becasue he's still alive. I take the point you make, but No.6 said that there is a man who is due to die {meaning Dutton} and I've always taken it that he would physically die, hence Dutton's name printed on black paper. But either way, I think a physical death would have been better than the living death he would surely have to endure for the rest of his life. Surely a fate worse than death!

This is by way of a posct script....
DeleteIf mentally one takes away Dutton's personality, then mentally Dutton would cease to exist.
