Number 6 should have checked the tide as he
launched that body tied to a life belt in ‘Dance of the Dead,’ because the tide
is coming in, not going out! So the body would be more likely to be washed back
up on the shore, than be carried out to sea! But giving the body the benefit of
the doubt, the crew of M.S Polotska soon found it tied to a life belt. Had the
body of the dead man been washed back on the beach, it would have been as
Number 6 originally thought, that the dead man had been washed ashore. But the
man had been a citizen of The Village, the evidence found in the dead man’s
wallet. The photograph of the man, sat with a young woman sitting by the pool
and fountain in the Piazza of The Village.
It is Number 6 who has died in an accident
at sea, and the body which has been amended slightly, like the wallet in his
pocket, will be confirmation of a known fact. Seeing as how the Prisoner’s
death at sea would have been reported some little time after the episode of ‘Many
Happy Returns,’ this also gives a small fact of continuity between the two
episodes of ‘Many Happy Returns’ and ‘Dance of the Dead.’ This because they
were written by the same script writer…. Anthony Skene.
Be seeing you
