I don’t remember that sign being there
before! I bet someone from the housing department came along and hung that sign
outside your cottage. But there you are! You have been pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, and now it
seems you have been numbered!
The use of that word is ironic, don’t you think? Seeing as there is no privacy anywhere in The Village, not even in Number 6's bathroom!
