Hello David,it's an interesting question, engaging new number games.. maybe it's about the way it can be written.. 2/10. Or it's a message 2 1.Or it might be related to some date that marks an important step or decision during production. Or a birthday of someone related to PMcG?Will we ever learn?Best wishes. Be seeing you!Jana
Let's ask the General! Here comes the punch card... - BCNU!
Hello Jana and Arno, I have read that Feb 10th was specified in the script of 'The Schizoid Man.' If the date is related to some important date, then I think its more likely to be connected to the scriptwriter Terrence Feely than Patrick McGoohan. That's very good, ask the General, here comes the punch card....Feb 10th is not enough information for the General, there are not enough basic facts! On the other hand, the General might just churn out a list of dates of things that happened on Feb 10th through the centuries!Very kind regards to you both.DavidBCNU
With multiple February 10ths, I'm reminded of No.6's comment "Don't tell me that time travel is in it as well!".It might be that the Village are using deliberately wrong dates to add to No.6's sense of unease.Be seeing youZM72
Hello ZM72, Then again perhaps it is always Feb10th in The Village!Very kind regardsDavidBe seeing you
A good point, particularly as Alain Carrazé and Hélène Oswald write: "All the episodes of THE PRISONER seem to take place in an eternal present and to tell an uncompromising cyclical story." So, the Village as a continuum of its own where time and space hardly matter. - BCNU!
Hello Arno, Yes, that's a very good point. That being the case, can we be sure that the day-date calendar is correct? Oh, yes, I've just remembered that we can. Becasue of the patient report sheet on the clipboard on the end of the bed, dated Feb 11th.Very kind regardsDavidBCNU

My extensive research confirms that (around the years in which the The Prisoner was made) the 10th of February occurs on a Wednesday in 1965 and not again until 1971.Set in the past or set in the future. This does not seem to disorient No.6.BCNU!
Hello 42, Interesting, one learns something new everyday. It would seem that time and dates are not important, only "place." Or perhaps Number 6 was right in his suggestion, that time travel is in it after all!Very kind regardsDavidBCNU
