TV's Greatest Hits looked back at 1968 back in 1982 I think it was. The programmes presenter was Mike Smith, and he had the challenge of interviewing Patrick McGoohan, seen here on the left. Behind him and around him, sat numerous fans of the Prisoner who were all in village costume.
Recenlty, while looking for material, I watched again this programme, and I looked at McGoohan's eyes which are all over the place. He looks nervous, uncomfortable, giving the impression of "What the hell am I doing here? Why did I let myself in for this?" That was the first and last time Patrick McGoohan appeared with fans of the Prisoner. I should think it was an experience he would not want to repeat, and so didn't, although he was always invited to the Prisoner conventions held annually at Portmeirion. BCNU
I find it stunning that the same people who were producing the material No3 has just unearthed here....

....could have the sheer gall to do this. I've no objection to people promoting their own opinions, but the sheer hypocrisy of this event I find......
Unbloodybelievable.
Hello Moor,
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who organised this event, probably ITV, who invited members of six of One along. I really don't know enough of that event to comment. Although I can say that I was not a member of Six of One at that time, and probably wouldn't have fitted in with some of the members at that time.
