{No.2 - A Change of Mind}
I can only think to ask the question, what made No.2 think that the Prisoner resigned prematurely? Could it be that the Prisoner was expected to resign at some point, but did so prematurely? Perhaps prematurely because he was at the at the height of his career. A demonstration of this would lie with Patrick McGoohan who was at the height of his television career, having become a household name because of 'Danger Man.' But that didn't stop him from chucking his job in, much to the dismay of Lew Grade!
