No.6 rejected the offer of ultimate power, whether or not that offer was a genuine one we shall never know. In the 2009 series of THEPRIS6NER Two offers the Village to Six, and he took responsibility of the Village, after all he is the One. And in the Control Room of the Summakor building Michael-Six takes the Chair. Had No.6 accepted, then he might have ended up a free man, or at the very least achieved peace of mind. Because he didn’t want to be a number. He didn’t want to be Number One. As it is he remained a PRISONER!
As for the ending of THEPRIS6NER , it has its strength and its weakness. It would have been stronger if there had been a second series, which was the hope at the time. Thereby 'Checkmate' would have been the end of the first series, much in the way that 'Once Upon A Time' was originally to have been the last episode of the first series. And I've just thought, there is something which both 'Checkmate' of THEPRIS6NER 2009 series and 'Once Upon A Time' share.......the death of No.2. And yet, neither were actual deaths!
Be seeing you
