Postcard From The Village

There is an almost holiday camp atmosphere about the Village, all the entertainment is organised for us, there are even public announcements, they are very keen about weather reports, the ice cream flavour of the day, and telling us when it’s time to go to bed!
Today we played a game of human chess. In the afternoon I went for a swim in the swimming pool, and spent the rest of the time playing beach ball, and sunbathing. Everyone is very friendly here, one might even meet people one knows. I might meet a handsome stranger and have a holiday romance.

  1. What if the principle works for The Prisoner had happened 1 year later, during or shortly after the "summer of love" 1967? Could we have listened to "If you're going to Portmeirion... meet some gentle people there..."? Would there have been a different series, a different solution/ending? Fantasizing. - BCNU!

    1. Hello Arno,
Hey man that's cool, drop in, fall out, make love, smoke weed, hey look at the Village it's beautiful man, a kaliedoscope of colour, and that's just in the Therapy Zone! And there may well have been a different solution/ending, one can only try and imagine, and yes fantasize!

      Best regards as always

    1. Hello Anonymous,
Well they sell postcards in the Village both in the General Store and at a kiosk, so persumably citizens buy them, and send them to each other using the new Blue Zone in the post!
As for this postcard, it's posted here for anyone to read, and sent electronically!

      Very kind regards
      David

    2. Yes, but you're pretending to be a woman, No. 8, writing to someone OUTSIDE theVillage. Anyone in the Village would already know all the items you mention, human chess, flavour of the day, etcetera, so my question remains: within your fictional scenario to whom is the postcard sent and how?
