The Village – Shangri-la
The few, the chosen few, live in The
Village in peace and security. Many live there and wouldn’t leave The Village
for all the World. Shangri-la is the dream of men. But time spent in
Shangri-la, and soon the outside world becomes the dream. Number 2 told Number
6 that if he insists on living a dream he may be taken for mad. To which Number
6 tells her that he likes his dream, because everything is elsewhere. That’s because
there will always be those who are discontented, dissatisfied, and want to
leave Shangri la. Why Number 6 persists on trying to escape The Village.
